Synopsis
The Beverly Hillbillies was a hugely popular American sitcom that followed the Clampett family, a poor rural family who suddenly became millionaires after discovering oil on their land in the Ozarks. After moving to the luxurious neighborhood of Beverly Hills, California, the family’s simple country lifestyle hilariously clashed with high society culture and modern city living.
Led by the good-hearted patriarch Jed Clampett, the series became famous for its fish-out-of-water comedy, memorable characters, and sharp satire of wealth and class differences. The show quickly became one of television’s highest-rated programs during the 1960s and remains a classic example of American sitcom entertainment.
